Last friday SAF played their last show ever at the ACU........really enjoyed seeing so many people jumping on top of each other. Big up to SAF for al those years of noise!

in Plato, Steenweg 13, is het Alan Lomax wat de klok slaat, er spelen tussen 12:00 en 17:00 een viertal acts: Maurits GEM, Lea, A Balladeer, en Lucky Fonz III doen nummers van hun voorbeelden Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Johnny Cash en Woody Guthrie. Dit alles omlijst door St. Paul.

in de OLYPHANT, oudegracht 299, spelen tussen 13:00 en 15:15 SneakerFreak, Pien Feith en Room 11, het geheel natuurlijk onder leiding van Ijzeren Podiumdier Skinny B.

in DBs, Cartesiusweg 90a, speelt Hallo Venray om 18:30-19:30. Je kan de bus pakken die elk uur vanaf vredenburg vertrekt naar dbs!

en dan in Stairway to Heaven, Mariaplaats 11-12, speelt utreg's folkpunktrots Circle-J om 22:00 tot 22:35, een betere afsluiter hadden we zelf niet kunnen bedenken.

Last Nite:Congos @ Tivoli de Helling

De legendarische Congos waren gisteren te gast in De Helling, die behoorlijk goed gevuld was. De eerste helft van het concert was niet om aan te horen, veel nieuwe nummers van de plaat die net uit is en toch echt niet leuk is. En dat in combinatie met stemmen die bijna niet meer boven de band uitkomen. De tweede helft meer oud werk en ze kwamen ook wat meer op gang. Bovendien waren de grijze rastas visueel zeker vermakelijk, waardoor het uiteindelijk toch nog gezellig was, zeker tijdens de afsluitende knallers, Fisherman en Congoman. Verder ook nog 2 singeltjes op het fisherman-riddim gescoord, dus om 12 uur weer tevereden thuis op de bank.

Next Saturday Oct 14, Said & Smartin will play funky exotic tunes from all corners of the world in the Ekko Bar. In the Hall, Brutus & Azrael play their usual saturdaynight mix. Starts 23:00, damage 5 euros. More info check: http://www.ekko.nl.

Due to touring obligatons elsewhere COUNT OZZIE is awol on the 21st, so this edition of ELEPHANT SOUNDSYSTEM will be hosted by only SMARTIN & COLD SWEAT. Luckily we found a very good third man as replacement in DJ KAYONGO, who some of you might know from his infamous NUBINITE events at Rasa. Apart from a deep knowledge of african music, this Kenyan born and bred dancer/selecter knows his way around reggae as well. But beware: this guy enjoys dancing to his music even more than you do, so don't be surprised if he jumps off stage to join you on the dancefloor after popping a big, heavy tune...You guessed it: Elephant Sounds will BOOM as ever!
