yeah mon!!!

yesterday we had our first monthly elephant party of the year 2006. it was a blast, finally it seemed that the equipment was allright! Cold Sweat played a fine selection of his new tunes, Smartin cutted some new stuff and the atmosphere was great!

eventually some mc'ing came round when one of the needles of the turntables broke... luckily Smartin had a spare one at home so with some delay we were obliged to use only the one of the two.

there were a lot of new faces and everybody was quite enthousiastic!

now onto the nex' one...

10 Feb: Lekker Van Achteren in DBs!!!!!!!

Komt dat zien, komt dat zien

10 Februari in dB's alwaar Van Achteren op onwaarschijnlijke en ontroerende wijze de Nederlandstalige gayrock weer op de kaart zet. Na hun succesvolle toer in de Greenroom in Melbourne vorig jaar zijn ze nu klaar om een eenmalig (lees eenmalig) en exclusief (lees exclusief) optreden te geven in jullie eigenste Utrecht (hun enige optreden ooit op Nederlandsche bodem). De pers over Van Achteren (ook wel "The real el-Zombie" genoemd) : Van Achteren weet op welhaast feilloze wijze 100 jaar popgeschiedenis in 1 wervelende cocktail te mixen....wreed ...Zoals Arie Ribbens al zong:"Niet geschoten is altijd mis" dus pak die kans....

En hierbij dus ook nog de muzikale groetjes voor 2006 namens Van Achteren:

Last Tuesday @ DBs: King Khan & BBQ Band

Hail Hail Rock & Roll! King Kahn (see below) visited Utrecht again, this time not with a large funk outfit, but with a guy called BBQ, playing garage rock 'n roll. They played 2 sets and everybody loved it. Real music for real people! In March they will visit Ekko, so stay tuned for that one!


Between & afterwards DJ Andy (see below) took control with a very sweet selection of funky soul & exotica. Not a lot of people heard the last part of his set, but I did, and I reallly loved it. Big up!
